Water Treatment Operations: Perform all operations of the water treatment plant, learns to accurately read the control panel for proper flow rates, water temperatures, treatment solutions, sludge removal and pH water levels to assure sufficient amount of treated water for plant operation. Will assist in gathering water samples, including storm water runoff and running tests to maintain required pH level. Checks ferric and lime mixing stations as required. Monitor water wells as needed. Assist in the draining and/or pumping of secondary containments throughout the facility. Learns to perform minor repairs and adjustments to motors and pumps and notifies management in case of major operational problems or needed supplies. Perform various inspections throughout the facility on a routine basis
Waste / Stabilization Operations: Operates Air Curtain Incinerator. Assist in the treatment of hazardous waste to render it nonhazardous. Assist in the loading of all waste shipments. Prepare Universal Waste for shipment. Perform various inspections throughout the facility on a routine basis. Assist with the clean-up of spills throughout the facility as needed.
Other Misc. Duties / Not Limited To: Must be forklift certified or be able to be forklift certified. Ability to drive and/or operator pump-truck. Must have the ability to write legibly, fill out documents properly and log books. Will be responsible for own work and must be able work with limited supervision. Wears all appropriate safety equipment at all times. Keeps work areas clean, safe and orderly. Performs other miscellaneous duties as required.
Must be able to obtain Texas D Wastewater license within a 6-month period.
Performs a variety of complicated and semi-complicated operations to diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions and uses equipment manuals as needed to service, and make repairs on all battery, gasoline and diesel operated equipment such as, road tractors, company cars, heavy equipment, fork trucks, pay loaders, motor tugs, brush hogs, golf carts and sweepers. In particular, a successful candidate for this position will possess the ability to diagnose, break down and repair hydraulic as well as pneumatic cylinders and be able to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical chain hoists.
Performs a large variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, and utilization of electrical energy. Coordinates, participates, assists, constructs, fabricates, installs, repairs and maintains generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems and electronic controls as required for plant operations. Assists supervisor in planning, scheduling and assigning various jobs. Order parts and materials for electrical department from warehouse and purchasing department as required to install and maintain equipment. Locates, diagnoses and repairs troubles in electrical systems and equipment. Works with electrical hand and power tools, measuring and testing instruments. Assists maintenance mechanics in dismantling or partially dismantling machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble and makes necessary repairs or adjustments as required. Uses and interprets for others complicated blueprints and drawings. Troubleshoots breakdowns to determine cause of trouble. Must keep work of unit on schedule. May give on-the-job instructions to other Electricians. Keeps work area safe, clean, and orderly, wears proper safety equipment and follows all safety rules and procedures. Performs other miscellaneous duties as required.
