Performs a variety of complicated and semi-complicated operations to diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions and uses equipment manuals as needed to service, and make repairs on all battery, gasoline and diesel operated equipment such as, road tractors, company cars, heavy equipment, fork trucks, pay loaders, motor tugs, brush hogs, golf carts and sweepers.
Ability to inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical chain hoists. Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, maintain all equipment in a safe operating condition. Must possess knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical repairs as well as methods and techniques in maintaining & carrying out mandatory and routine repairs in an organized manner. Ability to diagnose, break down and repair hydraulic as well as pneumatic cylinders. Ability to interpret electrical diagrams, repair manuals and schematics. Must possess the ability to operator fork lifts, heavy equipment, hoist and hand tools. Repair the above equipment by proper diagnosing all mechanical and electrical malfunctions and making all required repairs. Operate equipment to insure adequacy of repairs. Responsible for the care and proper use of equipment related to work. Assist in maintaining a safe, clean and orderly working environment. Perform other miscellaneous duties as required. Must furnish own tools as specified by supervisor.
Associate degree in electrical troubleshooting, gasoline and diesel engine repairs; or three or more years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
