  • Overview

    Under direction of the McWane Technical Group Manager, execution of day to day business within the technical services division.


    • Fulfill McWane Technical Group mission of promoting iron at the engineering and specification level
    • Provide value to AB&I and Tyler through market intelligence, influencing specifications and internal branding
    • Communicate with Tyler and AB&I National Sales Managers
    • Manage the continuous education initiative and grow library, distribute to engineers and certified plumbing designers across the country
    • Keep McWane Technical Group Manager aware of changing and new products in market
    • Lead Technical Services team in the direction that TSM and MPGM has created
    • Ensure JTS is being used as a value add device
    • Be in constant contact, with Tech Services Team to further cast iron as the main choice of DWV system
    • Manage Expenses including Foundry Tours and other expenses to ensure best value from Tech Services
    • Relay market intelligence to MPGM about new products, competitive products and growing interest products in the DWV system
    • Manage, evaluate, coach and course correct tech service personnel for performance and activities to meet goals and responsibilities.
    • Attend all Tech Group meetings and provide overview of what Tech Services is doing in service of domestic cast iron.
    • Execute 3 meetings a year for information exchange and execute 1 team building event a year with Tech services
    • Manage a 2-3 state territory while executing the McWane Tech services Role.
    • Must be mechanically inclined and be willing to learn
    • Must treat confidential matters professionally
    • Under direction of the McWane Technical Group Manager, must manage Tech Services team and make decisions that are consistent with the MTGM strategy
    • Manage Tech Services to:
        • fulfill McWane Plumbing Group strategic goals and plans
        • meet performance measures
        • effective travel
        • efficient time management
        • interact with Tyler and AB&I regional managers and provide information where needed
        • use Job Tracking Systems
                      *  effective business planning for territories




    • Bachelors’ degree in marketing or business work, experience equivalent or either, along with extensive experience in engineering principles or construction
    • Job requires an individual that is self-starter
    • Must possess good communication, management and people skills
    • Position requires extensive travel and must manage a small territory.
    • Extensive Travel 50-75%
