Prepares, creates, and distributes paperwork associated with shipping product including picking lists, packing slips and Bills of Lading. Has knowledge of Shipping methods including UPS parcel, LTL, customer pickups, and full truck loads.
Must be able to problem solve and adjust forms and documents as loads may change at the last minute. Attention to detail is important. Close attention must be paid during data entry to ensure line items are placed correctly in software system. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX software is a plus. Will use system to locate, print, sort, and distribute picking lists to product assemblers. Prepares packing slips, bills of lading and any associated labels once orders are completed. Dispatches incoming trucks and directs truck movement on yard based on loading times and loader availability. Communicates by radio with truck drivers as well as supervisors and team members throughout the day to help facilitate operations. Has daily interaction with customer service representatives regarding order shipment inquiries, cost of shipments, projected ship dates, and backorders. Will receive inbound product into system. May be required to assist during physical inventories or cycle counts. Reviews and audits LTL freight bills for accuracy of charges. Contacts LTL carriers in cases of lost product or any discrepancies to ensure proper credit is issued as required. May be called upon to plan daily truckload shipments to customers by considering load tonnage, customer location, expected delivery dates, number of stops on route and any special considerations of customer service. Keeps and files shipping and receiving records according to document holding policies. Should be able to work in what can be a pressure-filled environment at times. Must perform other miscellaneous duties as required.
